Participating in GeoPriSM
What assessment is required?
- Complete a GeoPriSM Needs Assessment and Geospatial TPACK pre-assessment when joining the program.
- Administer a student pre-assessment before implementing geospatial technologies with your class or classes each year of the program
- Administer a student pre and post-assessment at the conclusion of each academic year.
- Complete an annual end of year survey.
- Complete other surveys or assessments as requested by PEER Associates (program evaluators).
What training is required?
GeoPriSM participants are expected to get least 60 hours of professional development annually. This professional development should meet the following requirements:
- At least 40 hours of “intensive” geospatial professional development
- At least 20 hours of “follow up training and support” in the implementation of geospatial technologies
- At least 75% of the hours should be completed through offerings provided by NHEdGIS or its partners.
- Up to 25% of the hours could be completed through other approved offerings. Examples of this could be Esri Virtual Campus courses or other web training, NCGE webinars, etc.
Will I be required to complete a mapping project?
GeoPriSM participants are required to complete a Community Atlas Project with at least one class of students during each school year. A Community Atlas Project consists of maps and text that describes your community or another area of interest.
