August 5 - 9 2019
Plymouth Regional High School
Data can have tremendous power- and with great power, comes great responsibility. That is why we need to help our students understand how to choose data, symbolize data and display data, in honest and thoughtful ways to "tell the story".
The Power of Data (POD) Project has been recognized by Change the Equation as an Accomplished STEMworks Program that makes a real impact on students. Our professional learning programs enable teachers to enhance their existing lessons with Geospatial Inquiry in order to to increase 5-12 grade students' 21st century skills and STEM career awareness.
New Hampshire POD Participants will receive:
1) $500 from POD for the 5 days of workshop attendance, outside preparation and assigned reading.
2) Additional $300 from POD if you travel more than 50 miles to attend. (Great Circle Route provided, if you need it.)
3) Certificate of attendance documenting 35 hours of face-to-face seat time for attendance at the POD Teacher Workshop.
4) Certificate of participation documenting 25 hours of preparation, reading and participation online.
5) Delicious variety of snacks and working lunch (provided).
6) $200 from POD after implementing your Geospatial Inquiry lesson, submitting an implementation log, and administering an online survey to students.
