In this workshop, participants will:
- Learn about climate change watershed science from USFS researchers
- Obtain curriculum activities from the Hubbard Brook Research Foundation developed by classroom teachers
- Understand the impacts of climate change in Mirror Lake with the invasion of the pumpkinseed study by a Plymouth State graduate student
- Learn how to use the NH Fish and Game Watershed Ecology Program protocols to
- Collect water quality and macroinvertebrate data from a local stream
- Study fish populations by electro-fishing with biologists
- Study the local watershed and address the impact of climate change on brook trout populations
- Learn how to use ArcGIS Online (AGO) technology in your classroom
- To post, share and analyze the data you collect
- To design your own Story Map to share your adventures
- Learn AGO from other classroom teachers and natural resource & GIS specialists (NHEdGIS team)
You will have the opportunity to earn:
- Stipend from the GeoPRiSM MSP project
- Graduate credits from Keene State College
