Summer Spatial Institutes show NH teachers to use mapping in the classroom, online and in the field
May 2014 - The NH Educational GIS Partnership will offer seven spatial institutes designed to help NH teachers to learn how to use GPS and GIS in the classroom.
The 2014 Summer Spatial Institutes have been dramatically expanded from last summer, covering topics ranging from GIS and GPS basics, teaching with ArcGIS Online, collecting data with mobile devices, using imagery in maps, and using GIS to teach US history. In addition to the topical sessions, a final institute will be focused on curriculum integration of geospatial concepts. Teachers who participate in the sessions will earn stipends, and for those who take the introductory workshop, will receive their own GPS unit.
