Develop Your Own Geospatial Curriculum

We give you time and assistance to develop your own lessons, or modify existing lessons for your own teaching.

This workshop is part of the 2018 Summer Spatial Institute

Date and location:
August 13-15, 2018, 8:30am to 4:30pm
Hopkinton Middle High School, Contoocook, NH

Summary:
Now that you have learned some GIS skills by taking workshops...  get help integrating geospatial concepts into your curriculum!  This institute provides the perfect environment for designing your approach to using GIS, GPS  and/or remote sensing in your teaching. We will provide lots of time for you to think and write, with the support of experienced GIS educators to answer questions. Small group breakout sessions to teach or reinforce specific skills (such as creating data collection apps, performing analysis, or making a storymap) will be offered if requested.  Opportunities will also be provided for you to solicit and obtain feedback from other educators on your plans. The goal is for you to leave with at least one unit ready for classroom implementation!
.

You will have the opportunity to earn:
  • Possible Stipends from the GeoPRiSM II MSP project , depending on funding availability.
